Review of The Tillman Story (2010) by Norris M — 30 Jun 2011
Wow? I still haven't finished watching the film, but it's so... thorough. They get so in depth that they really pound it into your head that he wasn't who the media was trying to make him out to be. And I had to stop watching because I got frustrated with Pat. Because, and this is the only knock one could possibly have against the guy:
He's married, right? He has a family, a wife, and most of all, talent.
So at one point, he gets the chance to get out of the war after he got disillusioned with, and he doesn't take it. That really hurt. And it speaks to how amazing the film is, because II had to stop because I couldn't take this guy not being here because he had TOO much honor. Because he clung to honor so tightly that it stopped him from getting out of a contract that he hated for a contract where he gets restored to his former glory. It'd be ironic if it wasn't so damned sad.
He wouldn't have shut up about the war when he got back though, which makes me think that we're about to go down conspiracy lane. And I'm looking for my seat belt.
