Review of The Tillman Story (2010) by Raul V — 08 Nov 2011
Captivating, though-provoking, & ultimately infuriating! Solidly crafted documentary film that explores the "much talked about" yet "virtually unknown" story of Pat Tillman. Although it's a very inspirational story at times, it's not necessarily the most up-lifting.
From accounts of those closest to Pat, the "myth" of Pat Tillman that was created and spread around this country holds very little weight compared to the "man" he actually was. Upon his death attributed to "friendly fire", the U.
S. military, U.S. politicians, along with "news media" formulated a palpable yet inaccurate depiction of a slain hero. His "story" had been propagandized to the fullest extent in order to keep up support for the wars.
..and perhaps as a possible recruiting tool...during a fuckin' election year of course. An important film that will be very hard to watch for many...but I implore you to do so. It never made it to theaters in these parts.
..SHOCKER! Rent it, Red Box it, You Tube it, download it...just please fuckin' watch this movie.
