Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by Eliam M — 23 Nov 2012
Overambitious directing and poorly conceived writing has doomed what might have otherwise been a reasonable film. The dialogue is reasonable enough on the outset, and seems to be set up to be a fun update to the 1993 Musketeer film, which it is ultimately to be weighed against.
And it felt to be on its appointed path until the moment the air ship arrived. From that moment onward, the descent into absurdity is so fast, it's surprising more necks weren't broken on the way down.
And someone tell Milla Jovovich that she is not in a Resident Evil movie, because the stunts she was doing have no place in a movie such as this.
