Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by James D — 31 May 2012
They might as well should've called it the "Four Musketeers" because most of this movie is centered around Logan Lerman's character who isn't even an original musketeer. That part of the movie I didn't like, I was thinking it was going to be based on the main Musketeers more than anything, not quite sure why they did it this way.
The swordplay was fun to watch, other than that it was pretty predictable and non-exciting. My favorite character had to be "Porthos" played by Ray Stevenson, in my mind the stand out of the film.
He was funny, and just brought a small spark to the movie. Other than that, its a pretty forgettable movie. Might be worth a rent if you are a big Musketeer or swordplay fan, otherwise this one can be missed out on.
Great cast, but it doesn't make up for the lack of entertainment here. 3/5 JD.
