"Every legend has a new beginning.".

An ultra-visual, but ultimately flat re-vamp of the classic Alexander Dumas tale. It's your textbook Paul WS Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon, Resident Evil) film, style over substance and not much else at all. The story is flat, the acting not so good and the costumes and sets were a bit cheesy. However, the CGI special effects are quite a visual marvel and the battle sequences and sword fights are quite entertaining. All in all I found this film to be a bit on the dull side, it's worth a look for any Paul Anderson fans and action junkies should be quite pleased as well. As much as I don't want to admit it, just like every other Paul Anderson film, The Three Musketeers was a bit of a guilty pleasure. Anderson and company just know how to make dull, hopeless stories and turn them into something halfway decent. It's the most recent in a long line of Paul Anderson films that for some odd reason or another, ended up keeping my attention. The flying pírate ship battle was absolutely breathtaking as well as many other battle sequences throughout.

The cast is stacked, but the acting suffers from everyone not taking the film seriously. Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew McFayden, Like Evans, Ray Stevenson and Mads Mikkelson have a good time with their respective roles, but none of them take anything seriously and it shows.
