Review of The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) by Ben B — 16 Feb 2008
Moody and atmospheric with some excellent characterisation. Tommy Lee Jones is great and Barry Pepper also puts in a strong supporting performance, with both putting across the psychologically and physically gruelling journey they undertake excellently.
Often meandering and ambiguous, the film's refusal to state its intentions is one of its strengths. A very fine film.
