Review of The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) by Jake H — 21 Feb 2008
Very disjointed in approach, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is nevertheless the most simple of stories. Tommy Lee Jones delivers a compelling performance as a grief-maddened cowboy who seeks to redeem his murdered friend along with the man who killed him.
The issue of illegal immigration and our responses to it frames the movie, but it's just an old-fashioned Western at heart. Highly recommended.
