Review of The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) by Todd H — 09 Oct 2008
I think this is a movie about penance and sacrifice, guilt and absolution. Also deals with borders and the interconnectedness of communities and the sins they harbor (or don't). Very well done. There's also a moment that I love - when he's in Mexico looking at the horizon while a girl plays an out of tune piano - very ethereal, a Terence Malick moment.
