Review of The Third Man (1949) by Rick S — 11 Aug 2009
Classic film noir. Not exactly life-altering, but certainly worth watching for the many scenes filled with an ominous, dark atmosphere brought out by some remarkable cinematography. The story is entertaining, the dialog is great, and I was even suprised to find some bits of humor amongst the suspense. After watching, the only thing that really seemed to stick out as lacking was the score. In several instances, seemingly inappropriate music fades in that distracted from the mood already set by the scene.
Overall a really great genre piece I'd watch again just for the visuals alone.
