Review of The Third Man (1949) by Trevor H — 28 Sep 2009
One of the best of the film noir genre featuring some of the best actors of that era, Orson Welles, Trevor Howard and Joseph Cotton. Cotton plays a pulp fiction novelist who arrives in Vienna on the day of his friend's funeral.
The filmaking is pure, Reed brings out mood, glances and glares, and the dark, wet streets add to the intrigue and the chase. A must see for film fans, and a brilliant final scene.
