Cotten and welles as well as the rest of the cast are excellent. the musical score and cinematography add so much to this noir film. the string instrument that plays the score is called a zither. the kitten and little kid are two examples of great use of little clever devices in the film.

the scene where lime is trying to climb out of the sewer at the end and the camera angles on that are awesome. what is the value of human life in a place where human life has been so lightly valued? six weeks were shot on location in bombed out vienna; which adds a nice touch.

lots of use of symbols in the movie, pretty deep haven't got it all figured out yet. very worth watching if you like black and white movies or dectective/espionage type stuff. great ending.
