Review of The Third Man (1949) by Mark Q — 18 Jan 2011
The best film ever to emerge from Britain!!! A wonderfully constructed & complex film, featuring a marvellous script, brilliantly directed with some inspired camera angles which heighten the sense of confusion & uncertainty.
Cotten plays his straight-laced character well, but Orson Welles steals every scene as the heinous Harry Lime. A number of great scenes & interesting encounters, all beautifully realised make this an undisputed masterpiece!!!
