One of the screen villains, some of the best cinematography you'll ever find, one of the best chase sequences in all of film in its climatic scene, and one of the best final shots. This is often described as the "anti-Casablanca," but in my opinion, this film is to Casablanca what the invention of the wheel was to the first dude who unintentionally poked himself in the eye.
A classic film noir and a somber masterpiece with countless still-frames you could put up on your wall and call "art.".
