Review of The Third Man (1949) by Roy S — 29 Jan 2012
Often cited by critics as one of the greatest films of all time, and it is hard to argue with them. The Graham Greene story is excellent, and Welles's small role is superb. The cinematography is astounding, and captures the beautiful yet sinister atmosphere of rubble-strewn postwar Vienna perfectly.
Few movies capture a time and place so well. I feel lucky to have seen it in a theater and highly recommend it if the opportunity arrises.
