Review of The Third Man (1949) by Erick F — 05 Aug 2013
Real good stuff. Classic 1940s who-dun-it? Snappy dialogue. Had all the marks of a film noir. (Is this even considered a noir?) But they took some very different directions in a sometimes cliche genre.
The whole reveal of Orsen Welles in the third act was super rare in films. The guy does not get the girl this one. That cold shoulder in the end was something serious. I also thoroughly enjoyed all the foot chases.
Especially the one at the end. Kept me sucked in. Great Concept Great Execution. Definitely watch it!
