Review of The Third Man (1949) by Dillinger F — 09 Feb 2009
Noir at it's best. It's beautifully shot at those wonderful skewed angles, paralleling the points of view in the film. The pacing is pedantic, but in a good way. And who doesn't love that mesmerizing ferris wheel/gondola scene with Orson Wells and Joseph Cotten.
It has all the elements of "The Man Who Knew Too Much" formula, but it's darker and grittier. It's wonderful.
