Review of The Third Man (1949) by Devon — 17 Mar 2009
To long I have been waiting to see this movie, at first I tought it would look like a Hitchcock movie as I tought the director of this movie was Hitchcock, but its not :p. The director Carol Reed did really excellent! perfect! this is a true masterpiece, I never tought I would ever see a movie like this, the style is amazing, the whole directing is perfect.
But the thing that really made this movie for me wasnt only the perfect directing our the magnificant performances but the unique and amazing cinematography which is one of the things that I like most about movies.
In this movie the cinematography was outstanding, the angle which was used in conversations, the shadows on the walls and the magnificant scene in the sewers where all shot perfectly and above all that the best scene of the movie, the top movie moment: the appearance of Orson Welles.
That was really one of the best movie moments for me. This movie is just perfect, the unique style of director Carol Reed and the cinematogprahpy of Robert Krasker, the acting performances of Joseph Cotton, Alida Valli and Orson Welles, the lightning effects, the story.
That all is what makes this movie a masterpiece.Top 5 Cinematography:1. La dolce vita2. The third man3. Lawrence of Arabia4. Once upon a time in the west5. LA Confidential.
