Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Richard Y — 20 Sep 2007
Scariest monster film I saw back in the late 50's, but many times since then. The restrictive, fenced-in environment very much influenced the later monster-classic Alien, even down to the Geiger counter-like device to warn of the approaching creature!
This also spurned a great "remake" (The Thing) by John Carpenter which featured great creature effects. A definite Monster classic.
