Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Private U — 04 Feb 2008
To hell with Carpenter's version. It can stand on its own, but can't compare with this. One of the earliest movies comparing the threat of communism to an alien invasion. Exactly the sort of thing you'd expect, with the military having the right idea to kill the thing while scientists want to learn from it.
Classic 50's sci-fi and a must watch for modern horror/sci-fi fans.
