As far as black and white 1950's science fiction/horror/monster films go...this is TOP TIER. This ambitious film about a visitor from another world holds up well today, even next to John Carpenter's different vision of the story.
There are some fine performances in this film including Robert Cornthwaite as Dr. Carrington and Kenneth Tobey as Captain Hendry. This film is also a pretty interesting commentary on science and military at that time period in American history.
It's very interesting to watch invasion movies from those time periods. Definitely check this one out!
