Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Raynormanbateman . — 20 Oct 2009
Very tense Sci-Fi story about an isolated research team in the Arctic who discover a large spacecraft and its assumed pilot buried in the ice. The alien pilot, also encased in ice, is brought back to the teams camp and is accidentally thawed out.
Soon the team realizes that this 'thing' has very unusual powers including an ability to strengthen itself through the blood of its victims (human and otherwise). The military members of the team look to defend the camp while the scientists look to capitalize on the creature and explore its physiology.
Pretty creepy movie with a lot of suspense and without the gore used in John Carpenters' 1982 remake.
