Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Mr S — 08 Dec 2011
At first glance many viewers may see this film as an archaic, corny, and primitive experience. If this movie is examined more closely, with a few themes in mind, it becomes a very intricately woven thematic message. The conflicts within this film are classic, and relevant to society today.
The cold, isolated, bleak setting is a perfect stand in for space. This film questions the nature of human beings, is it destructive, or constructive? Give it a chance and some thought!
