Review of The Thing (2011) by Skyler B — 19 Jan 2013
Appropriately bleak and the continuity to JC's version is commendable; the abundance of jump scares and questionable CGI effects are not. Also, in the original, the Thing was stealthy because it had to be in order to survive; in this version it seems incredibly powerful to the point where it's a wonder why it even bothered assimilating anybody.
A movie that I want to like a lot more than I actually do.
