Not as great as the Carpenter film but this 'prequel' does a fair job recreating the paranoid tension of the 1982 version whileexplaining with fan friendly homage, the events at the 'Norwegian Camp' that directly preceded the arrival of Kurt Russel and his team.
So much so that the closing scene of this flick is almost exactly the opening scene of Carpenter's.
