A grossly unnecessary remake/sequel/reboot or whatever you want to call it. What makes John Carpenter's original such a classic was how there wasn't any CGI. That's what made the monster so frightening.
Because now we're in the 21st century, this remake uses CGI as a way to make it scarier. It doesn't work. The special effects from the first movie look SO MUCH COOLER. Now "The Thing" just looks like a screensaver.
