Arguably John Carpenter's best movie. This movie is suspense on overdrive. Considering that this movie is a remake and was released in 1982, it still stands the test of time. The use of shadows, camera movements, sound effects, and holding off showing the alien creature until absolutely necessary was critical.
Stan Winston's alien chameleon creature was far ahead of its time. I've seen this movie at least a dozen times, and I still enjoy it. Great movie!
