John Carpenter's The Thing is a sci-fi horror film that broke new grounds. It stars Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, Keith David, and a few others. Kurt Russell is fantastic in The Thing and it has to be one of his best roles.
The practical effects, created by the great Rob Bottin, are the main attraction of this masterpiece. They hold up so well, even to this day. The look of the creatures give me the creeps every time, and that is coming from someone who rarely gets affected by horror movies.
John Carpenter's The Thing is my favorite movie of all time, and I believe everyone should see it.
