Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Joe C — 26 Jul 2010
I find it hard to believe that a cast of so many wonderful actors couldn't save this movie. This movie is grossly over-rated! The pacing is slow and the movie doesn't seem to flow cohesively. It has so many good actors in it, but most of them seem to get lost in translation.
Malick has a knack of creating visually interesting shots, but the story is un-moving and too slow to get started. I have the same complaint of The New World (which I was looking very forward to, unfortunately it was a let down).
