A great book turned into a crappy film. This is the second screen adaptation, attempted adaptation, of James Jones classic novel, and both fail miserably. Three, long, boring hours of meandering garbage.
Japanese soldiers inaccurately portrayed, story garbled, an incredible waste of time.
