Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Cristian T — 27 Nov 2010
The Thin Red Line - Let me sum it up for you: It's a three hour war movie with about an hour of actual fighting. The other two hours are filled with confusing voice overs; intense-stare close ups; a lot of tall grass; cutaways to nature; Woody Harrelson literally blows up his own ass; John Travolta sporting a pedo-stache; minimal dialogue that is largely irrelevant; and a cast that consists almost entirely of cameo-roles.
Don't get me wrong, it was "good" in the most general sense relating to film. But if you want to watch a good war movie, go with something like Saving Private Ryan.
