Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Oj H — 09 Jun 2014
It's interesting that this film alternates between dreamlike philosophical voice-overs and gruesome fighting scenes, because I incidentally believe that is a central struggle when you find yourself in a battle: you have got to reconcile all the bubbling, nonsensical questions on your mind and the uncompromising reality of war.
Alas, the film is not as harsh as I want it to be, but knowing Malick and his style, what can I say?
