Review of The Thin Man (1934) by Hunter D — 31 Jan 2011
William Powell and Myrna Loy have chemistry to burn as they solve a murder case through a haze of alcohol. The actual murder mystery isn't as interesting as the colorful characters, but their devil-may-care attitude towards cracking it for fun is what makes the film so pleasurable.
THE THIN MAN is as tight and unpretentious as they get.
