Review of The Thin Man (1934) by John B — 05 May 2014
A fun Murder Mystery Comedy. Much funnier than the book, it takes the what I thought was rather dark sarcasm and the round the clock drinking from the book and turns it into a much lighter comedy between William Powell (Nick Charles - former detective) and his wife Nora (played by the very beautiful Myrna Loy), a rich heiress as they go about solving a complex murder with a host of suspects.
The movie deviates a lot from the book but in very interesting and fun ways. Still fun over 70 years after its release, this is a classic you should not miss.
