Review of The Thin Blue Line (1988) by Dan S — 09 Mar 2012
One of Errol Morris' early documentary/investigative films that set the standard for this genre. In hindsight (24 years after its release), it appears a bit heavy-handed and static. The haunting soundtrack by Philip Glass, however, underlines the severity of justice miscarried.
It took twelve years and a movie to free the innocent man sentenced to death. The actual murderer was executed in 2004 for another murder. You wonder how this ever could happen and, unfortunately, are given very compelling reasons for Texas law enforcement's behavior.
