"The Thief of Baghdad", an Arabian fable geared more towards children than demanding adult viewers, is more an empty exercise in overproduced style than the audience charmer it attempts to be, exploiting its eye-popping technicolor to death and granting nary a moment of escape from Miklos Rozsa's score.
