Review of The Thief of Bagdad (1940) by Francis L — 11 Jun 2012

For pure escapist fun for the entire family, this movie would be hard to top. From the dazzling colors, to the special effects, to the storyline this movie always grips me throughout. It's one of those rare ones where I don't find myself fast-forwarding to favorite sections, since I love it from start to finish.

There are some who will nit-pick: The special effects may seem hokey (by today's standards), Abu's 'justification' for stealing one last time (which might rile some people with high 'moral standards'), etc.

However, if you just sit back and enjoy it for entertainment you won't be disappointed.
