Albeit an unnecessary remake, among countless others, it wasn't entirely bad. I do think that they could have just lay this film series to rest, but as they tried again, we were forced to watch another.
It does maintain the creepy feeling from the original but it does seem to lack that extra suspense factor. If you have seen this and not the original it is worth the comparison, if you aren't so stubborn you will see the original was, indeed, better.
