Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) by Jay L — 18 Dec 2010
This is easily the best of the Michael Bay produced classic horror remakes. Director Marcus Nispel collaborates with Bay to bring this intensely effective and gruesome remake of the cult 70's classic. It's a blood-splattered thrill-a-minute frightfest, a downright disturbing, dark, twisted, and wickedly entertaining punch of cinematic horror. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is seriously gory, not recommended for the faint of heart. A nasty, rotten, terror-filled, and truly scary movie.
Good acting considering the fact that it's a horror film. Jessica Biel is some serious eye candy, gorgeous and sizzling hot. Also starring Eric Balfour who is pretty good as well. It also feature appearances by Jonathan Tucker and R. Lee Ermey who is absolutely chilling in his role as the small town's sheriff. Ermey chilled me to the bones with this role. Steve Jablonsky scores the film with a deeply disturbing tone.
A great remake, but not for the faint of heart, this is a seriously twisted and demented film.
