Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) by Sean G — 27 Apr 2010
Masterpiece is the word that comes to mind when watchin the TCM remake... the movie is stellar from the eerie start with the "hitchhiker" ... straight through to the intense end... the cast is great from top to bottom which is not usually the case in horror.
. and it's headlined by R. Lee Ermey... wow.. like one of the most messed up characters i've watched in my day... the movie is also the amazing debut for Marcus Nispel... I watched the making of and really know what he wanted for each shot.
.. but the movies biggest strength is the cinematography... the colour saturation is what really creates the most forbidding feeling and keeps the entire movie terrifying.... overall the movie ranks in my top echelon for horror flicks.
