Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) by Josh L — 10 Aug 2014
Not as bad as most remakes but still far from from good.
Plot: Five friends are stalked by a deformed man and his crazed family.
Compared to other Micheal Bay produced horror remakes, this is decent. I really hated the others. Directed by Marcus Nispel(remake of Friday the 13th, Pathfinder, and the upcoming remake of Conan The Barbarian), there are certain parts of this movie that are vomit inducing. While there are a few good jump scenes, and scares to be had, what brings this movie down is the predictable plot, stupid horror movie cliche's, so bad it's funny dialogue, and bad acting. The only two good actors in this movie are Jessica Biel who let's be honest, can still look hot while covered in dirt, sweat, and blood. The other is that kid from The Ring. He's hilarious in this! All in all good as far as remakes go, but bad as a movie. Total Score:4.0/10.
