With a different actress (or director if he told her to be that annoying) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 would have been a bit better but nowhere near how well done the first was. Where the original TTCM thrived off of the great ambiance it created and the "what you don't see is scarier and more disturbing than what you actually witness" TTCM2 went all out to be the exact opposite.

The gore is clearly visible (unlike the original where there was less than Disney's Beauty and the Beast) and overdone. The happy go lucky amusement park is the setting (unlike the dread filled forlorn pig farm in the first).

Over-the-top acting runs rampant in TTCM2 and with a half hour left in the movie I actually started hoping that "leatherface" would forget the crush he had on Stretch Brock (played terribly by Caroline Williams) and just off her so I wouldn't have to listen to her forced screaming and exaggerated facial expressions and hand movements (which seemed to make up the vast majority of the final 45 minuets).

TTCM2 does will have its appeal to horror fans but as a follow up to one of the greatest horror movies ever mad it was a huge let down.
