Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Simon P — 03 Oct 2014
A less terrifying and more comedic sequel to the original. The film really turns the genre around this time and become a rather FUN and enjoyable comedy/horror film instead of trying to scare the audience.
The film here seems like a spoof of itself with crazily silly yet sometimes annoying characters, some awkwardly funny moments, and a quite adorable portray of Leatherface character this time around. The GORES here are impressively and intensely bloody and gleefully gory than the first one as well as the ridiculously fantastic set production that clearly double its budget of the original.
Overall, this is a sequel that lowers its SCARE factor and turns them into a silly premise that may be undeniably enjoyable but still is not smart or effective enough to rise above other films in the same genre [C+].
