Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by ! G-Man ! — 08 Dec 2009
A very watchable adventure/comedy. Almost nothing like the first film, and intentionally so. Although it isn't as cohesive as the original either, it's held together by the following highlights: chili with people in it wins first prize at a Texas chili-off, Dennis Hopper's hat, crop-top singes and eats little flecks of his own scalp, the lead actress has the best terrified scream I've ever heard, and theres an homage/revision of the original dinner scene.
Oh, and Leather Face makes Caroline William's character "stretch" wear a dead-skin mask made from her best friends face. The height of absurdity.
