Review of The Terminal (2004) by Ali M — 10 Mar 2010
The Terminal was loosely based on a true story of Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian refugee who lived in the Terminal in Charles de Gaulle Airport for 18 years.
Viktor Navorski, a man from an Eastern European country who doesnt speak english visits NY, while he is on the plane, a coup occurs at his country, The USA does not recognize the new government, so his Visa and passport are no longer useful, he cant get into USA, neither leave it, so he becomes a resident of the airport terminal.
I got interested in this movie when I saw a brief scene on TV. So I watched it all on DVD. Its a fabulous, enjoyable, meaningful and entertaining movie with a lot of funny moments (specifically through the first 30 minutes) and a slight tragedy. And it got a great simplicity with excellent acting.
But what I didnt like about this movie is the so unreality situations, Navorski barely knew few english word and Phrases when he arrives, but he got fluent in no time, and later he did a master-work by himself.
All in all, if you like fairy tales you are gonna definitely enjoy this movie.
