Review of The Tenant (1976) by David B — 31 Mar 2008

Enigmatic horror film in which Polanski behind the camera directs himself before the camera. He is very effective in the part of the unhinged tenant who gradually learns the story of the previous tenant and starts to notice things.

.....genuinely chilling and unsettling. One of Polanskis best but massacred at the box office and by most critics. It deserves a re-evaluation. A good companion to Rosemary's Baby and his other appartment films of the 60s.

Highly recommended.
