Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by ''Watchman'' W — 06 Mar 2009
If the Bible were a comic book, this movie would be derided as one of the most non-canon works of film in film history. I can handle creativity, speculation, and even additional scenes based on the work of Classical period historians... but come on. The Bible is the most accurate historical document in existence, and you don't have artistic license like you would with a retelling of "Cinderella.".
That said, this 3 hour and 39 minute movie held my attention much better than "The Godfather, Part II." Just don't trust that it's true to the original story.
