Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by James S — 10 Apr 2009
When a movie is called an epic, this is the film to which it must be compared. No other movie has the scope or visual effects that this one has. From the cast of tens of thousands (no lie) to the special effects (with no computers), it tells a story almost like none other.
The parting of the Red Sea still holds up against any special effect scene of today. Yes, the dialogue is a bit hokey, but the visual spectacle more than makes up for it.
