Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by Jeff B — 14 Apr 2009
Okay, I'll admit, I haven't seen this before. So my friend and I watched this Easter weekend. But of course, to add to the campiness of the film, we made a drinking game out of it. And a drinking game for 4 1/2 hours is quite entertaining.
As far as the movie goes, it is pretty hilarious to watch. Sure, the technical aspects of the film are pretty amazing, especially the parting of the Red Sea, but man, the script and the acting is crazy.
At least it looks like Yul Bryner knows he's in a campy film and goes along with it. But there are some hilarious scenes, such as the girls in the desert who find Moses. At least I finally saw it.
