Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by The Critic ( — 20 Jan 2013
Cecil B. DeMille's classic Biblical epic, a remake of his own 1923 silent flick, still manages to impress with detailed sets, stunning costumes, snappy dialogue, and grand performances from some of Hollywood's best.
It's a lengthy piece (an unnecessary three-and-a-half hours!), but one that's a non-stop spectacle showcase, controlled by one of show business' most successful ringmasters.
