Review of The Ten (2007) by Joshua K — 13 Jul 2010
It's certainly no Wet Hot, primarily because the thread of the Ten Commandments that purports to hold this film together seems like a ridiculous throw in (at best, it can be explained as a failed parody of morality tales).
And sadly, the black room narrator sequences that hold the film together are the least funny parts, as Paul Rudd monologues weakly to no one. But that doesn't mean there aren't genius moments of mini-parody and pure hilarity.
Wain has a sense of the cameo, and it serves the film as well. Look for a balls out fantastic animation towards the end, ala SuperJail. And at the end of the day, I'm just happy to see Ken Marino working.
